Strategic Planning
Shaping the Future of Cricket in Geelong
In 2020, the GCA Board of Management developed a 5-year strategic plan that included 5 key goals, as follows:
- Increase Playing Options and Choices to grow participation.
- Develop and Implement Plans for enhanced Accessibility and Inclusion in GCA Cricket.
- Build the Capacity and Sustainability of the Geelong Cricket Association
- Modernise and improve GCA Governance and Regulations
- Enhance the profile and brand of GCA cricket
A new strategic plan is due to be developed for the next 5-year period.

Purpose
In accordance with the GCA Model Rules, The purposes of the Geelong Cricket Association Incorporated are:
To promote, control and manage all cricket matches to be played between the Clubs comprising the Association and such other matches as shall be arranged from time to time and to foster, help and advance the game of cricket in Geelong and in neighbouring districts.
Vision
Meet the needs of a rapidly diversifying cricket market and grow participation.
It is the GCA’s responsibility to:
- Provide opportunities at all levels for Everyone to play cricket
- Provide pathways to the baggy green

The GCA board actively promotes ethical behaviour and decision making as set out in the Code of Conduct. Board members are expected to act with integrity to ensure that the reputation of the GCA is managed, protected and enhanced.
