Women’s cricket across the Geelong region continues to grow from strength to strength, with the Geelong Cricket Association Women’s League (GCAW) set to launch its 2025/26 season next weekend.
The competition, now well established under the GCA banner, continues to build on its success with new and returning clubs joining the ranks. This season, Marshall Cricket Club makes its debut in the women’s competition, while Collendina Cricket Club returns to the fold—further strengthening the reach and diversity of the league.
The GCA Women’s League offers multiple grades to ensure players of all ages and abilities can enjoy cricket in an inclusive and supportive environment. From emerging juniors taking their first steps into senior cricket to experienced players looking for strong competition, the league provides opportunities for everyone to play and develop.
The GCAW Committee—Miki Monahan (Chair), Liz Smith, Ellen Moon, Louise Brown, and Kisara de Alwis—has worked with clubs throughout the off-season to finalise fixtures and ensure a well-balanced and competitive structure across all grades.
As the new season begins, the League extends its best wishes to all players, coaches, umpires, and volunteers who make women’s cricket possible each week. Their commitment and enthusiasm continue to drive the success and growth of the competition.
